Bird® Technologies Group (Bird®) is pleased to announce the latest additions to its TXRX Systems antenna product line: high performance PIM-rated base station antennas in VHF, UHF and 700/800 MHz bands from Australia-based RF Industries (RFI).

RFI Industries is the leading provider of base station antennas for digital mobile radio applications in Asia and Pacific Rim. Bird and RFI have had a successful product/project relationship for over twenty years. This most recent collaboration to supply these antennas to the North American market is a logical extension of our continuing efforts to reliably support mission critical LMR applications. These products are also a natural complement of Bird’s current offering of other PIM rated products such as cavity combiners and multicouplers, which are sold under the TXRX Systems brand of products.

Passive Intermodulation (PIM) is a form of interference caused by the mixing of several frequencies from passive devices such as cable and connectors. Traditionally it impacted only high-end users, but growth of digital systems and shared antennas make PIM a real problem to all users. RFI/Bird will be one of the first antenna suppliers to bring world class PIM rated product within the reach of less intensive users.

The antenna offerings include exposed dipole arrays, corporate collinears, and meander collinears. With patent-pending element design and superior mechanical construction, the resulting antennas offer best-in-class performance such as broad bandwidth, high gain, and high power rating, as well as flexible configuration and space-saving mounting options.
